For Sale: Two finished bay dogs. ½ Catahoula / ½ BMC. They are 2.5 year old litter mate males. They have had a lot of training time, but limited hauling. They call off with a whistle and travel and work well horseback. They bay tight on small numbers, but loosen on larger groups. I train cattle dogs and use them primarily to dog break cattle. I have bred back my female to one of them and would now like to put them up for sale. They are a really nice pair of working dogs. I hate to sell but we are not gathering enough cattle currently, I have a litter on the way, and needing to make more room for outside dogs to train. This dog is well on his way with a really good start, he was born 12-24-10. He has a real hard bite and will hit either end. When I started him on stock he would get a hold and hang on till they kicked him off or drug him off on the fence. I have got a really good santion on this dog and he has started controling his adrenaline and is rating stock a lot better. He will still get a hold of one when he needs to or you ask him to but he slows right back down and goes to work like one shoud. I raised and  trained him with the hope of him being good enough when the time comes to replace my good old dog Boomer. Spook has not disappointed me, in fact I would rather work him than Boomer because he is so easy to handle.

Spook bites when he needs to or on command. He also bites clean and does not over bite the stock  this is important to work cattle calmly.  As you can see on the video he will bite the head and the heal. It is not often that you see a dog like Spook for sale. I go through a lot of dogs trying to get one like him.  The reason that I am considering selling him is that he is too good of a dog to set on the porch and with two Jr. High daughters playing softball and basketball etc. I will be attending more and more ballgames and fewer dog trials.

He is an all day working kind of dog, with a strong work ethic.  He has good gathering skills, loves to head cattle off,  and strong head bite.  He is not a healing dog. I've used him to hold up cattle while I sorted pairs and open cattle on the range. He will lie down, stay, walk up, steady, and will go either direction. He can take pressure well; he is an independent minded dog and can work alone at times. I got a late start on him, so he is not completely trained.
